Join us on Sunday, October 26 to celebrate the grand opening of the Sanford Community Forest and the All Persons Nature Trail! Drop by 433 Oak Street, Sanford any time between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to explore the new trail with a guide or on your own, meet neighbors, and learn more about the future of the 547-acre Community Forest and our “whole community” volunteer opportunities. There will be light refreshments, an opportunity to plant an acorn in the woods, and space to celebrate and reflect on the year.
The Sanford Community Forest All Persons Trail was designed to meet Forest Service Outdoor Recreation Accessibility Guidelines (FSORAG), making it suitable for people of all ages and abilities and folks who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters. It’s 2000 feet in length, almost half a mile, with benches for resting. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you!
