The Goose Pond Overlook trail is about .25 miles long, with lovely views of Goose Pond and beaver and birdwatching opportunities. Most of the trail is easy to walk, but there is one short, steep hill near the beginning that may be challenging. The trail entrance is about a 1/3 of a mile down Hodgdon Road. Look for the sign that says, “Town of Shapleigh Wildlife Sanctuary”. Please park at Boonies store on the opposite side of Route 11 – as a courtesy, please let store employees know you are leaving your car.
ATV use is not allowed on this trail, but be forewarned that some residents who live near the trail use it to access the main ATV trail.
